Welcome to L & D Aero Service, Inc.

L & D Aero Service, Inc opened its doors April 1, 1984 in a T-hangar in the small town of Rushville, NE. The business started out as just an aircraft maintenance shop, but in July, 1984 the City of Chadron was in need of an FBO and L & D moved its operation to Chadron, NE. They operated at the Chadron Airport for the next 22 years, adding fuel, flight instruction, aircraft rentals, and charters to their list of services.

In July, 2006 L & D Aero Service, Inc. made the decision to move their operation to the Rapid City Regional Airport, Rapid City, SD. The operation will again be an aircraft maintenance shop only. Beginning Oct. 1, 2006 the business is located on the north end of the Rapid City airfield next to Vision Air and Rapid Fuel.

L & D Aero Service, Inc's maintenance shop has an excellent reputation throughout the regional aviation community. L & D Aero Service, Inc draws aircraft maintenance customers from Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado.

Pre-Buy Inspections: When purchasing an aircraft that you are not familiar with, it is always wise to have a certified mechanic inspect the aircraft before buying the aircraft. You want to be sure the aircraft is being represented truthfully, that it is airworthy, that it has been maintained correctly, and that all the paperwork is complete and in order.

For pre-buy inspections, it is usually best to have a mechanic who has not been associated with the previous aircraft maintenance do the pre-buy inspection. At L&D Aero Service, Inc. our pre-buy inspections are very thorough, almost to the point of a complete annual inspection. We check the plane for hidden damage, rust, or previous repairs that are not listed in the logs. We also check to make sure all ADs have been complied with, that there is a current data plate and that all paperwork is in order. We also recommend doing a "title search" to be sure there are no liens still pending on the aircraft.
